About the organization

Missions Agency / Non-Profit

The Basic Utility Vehicle (BUV) Ministry is a 21 year ministry devoted to improving the lives of the world's poor by providing simple, low-cost vehicles to facilitate community transformation. We are focused on empowering people socially, economically, and spiritually. We aim to drive hope, connect people, and transform lives through rural transport solutions.   Basic Utility Vehicles serve mission organizations and churches in over 35 countries. The early adopters of BUVs were rural medical clinics and rural hospitals, so we are excited to return to GHMC.  Besides serving as a rural ambulance, BUVs can serve as a mobile clinic, or as a transporter to deliver healthcare workers. It can also be used to extend the outreach of your clinics to surrounding villages.  We use truck parts to make it reliable and tough (truck axle, truck brakes, truck leaf springs, rims and tires). It has a 1500 pound payload and thrives in rural areas.  It is very efficient...using only 1.2 liters of diesel per hour.
